ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Jakob, aka Flash Before Dishonor, a tattoo artist based in Stuttgart, Germany.
My focus is on classic Traditional tattooing—bold lines, vibrant colors, and timeless designs inspired by the roots of the craft. Rather than chasing trends, I'm drawn to tattoos that will look just as strong decades from now as they do on the day they're made.
I find inspiration in the classics of the 20th century, but just as much in alternative music, subculture, video games, all kinds of nerdy stuff, and the things that inspire me in everyday life. My goal isn't to simply recreate old designs, but to build upon them and give them my own twist. The result is tattoos that feel familiar while still having their own unique character.
Whether it's a small filler, a flash design, or a fully custom piece, every tattoo receives the same level of care and attention. A great idea deserves solid craftsmanship, honest advice, and a design that won't just look good today, but will continue to stand the test of time.
"Still learning" is my personal philosophy. To me, tattooing means never standing still. Every tattoo, every conversation, and every experience teaches me something new—not only as a tattoo artist, but as a person. That curiosity and respect for the craft are what continue to drive me every single day.

The easiest and fastest way to get in touch is via WhatsApp. It's the most reliable way for me to manage enquiries, and you'll usually receive the quickest response there.
You're also welcome to contact me via Instagram. However, messages occasionally get lost or don't show up properly, so for booking enquiries I generally recommend using WhatsApp or the contact form instead.
The contact form is another great option. Since you can provide all the important information about your tattoo idea right away, it often saves us from unnecessary back-and-forth messages. Please note that response times via e-mail may be a little longer than on WhatsApp.
For all tattoos that can be completed in a single session, I work with fixed prices. The final price depends on several factors, including the complexity of the design, its placement, the size, whether you'd like it in colour or black & grey, and whether you choose a flash design or a custom piece.
As a rough guideline:
A palm-sized flash design (including fingers) starts at around €300.
I deliberately work with fixed prices because I believe it's the fairest approach for both of us. You'll know exactly what your tattoo will cost before your appointment, making it easier to plan your budget. A tattoo shouldn't become more expensive just because we take a short break or a design requires a little more attention than expected.
For larger projects that require multiple sessions, I offer full-day sessions for €600.
A little tip: Keep an eye on my social media channels. I regularly post new flash designs, special offers, and occasional promotions.
Cash is preferred, but card payments are also welcome.
Please note that card payments incur a 1.5% surcharge to cover transaction fees.
A deposit is required to secure your appointment.
Don't worry – getting in touch, discussing your ideas, and the consultation itself are completely free of charge.
Why do I require a deposit?
There are two simple reasons:
1. Securing your appointment
Your appointment is reserved exclusively for you. If you cancel at short notice or don't show up—whether due to illness or a change of plans—that time slot will usually remain unfilled. Since it's often impossible to rebook such short notice cancellations, the deposit helps cover part of that loss.
2. Design work
For custom pieces, I start working on your tattoo long before your appointment. I develop your idea, create the design, and work closely with you through any revisions until we're both happy with the final result.
The deposit ensures that this time and creative work isn't left completely unpaid if the project doesn't go ahead.
The deposit is €50, or €100 for full-day sessions.
Deposits are usually paid via PayPal. If you don't have PayPal, don't worry—we'll find another solution.
Flash designs are pre-drawn tattoo designs that I've already created and prepared. They are repeatable, meaning they are not one-of-a-kind. This means that the same design—possibly with small variations such as different colours or sizing—may also be tattooed on someone else.
Since the artwork is already finished and usually only requires minor adjustments, flash tattoos are available at a more affordable fixed price.
Custom designs, on the other hand, are created exclusively for you. Together we'll develop your idea and turn it into a unique design that's drawn specifically for your project. The additional creative work involved is reflected in the final price.

Please note
The studio is located on the first floor of a residential building and doesn't have a traditional storefront. Don't worry if it doesn't look like a typical tattoo studio—you've come to the right place.
Simply ring the bell labelled "Tattoo 1", and I'll let you in.
Arriving by car
The studio doesn't have private parking. However, there are plenty of public parking spaces available nearby (some of which are paid).
Getting here by public transport
S-Bahn
The nearest S-Bahn stations are Feuersee and Schwabstraße, both around a 5–10 minute walk from the studio.
I generally recommend Feuersee, as the walk is a little easier. If you get off at Schwabstraße, be prepared for a few flights of stairs on the way to the studio.
Bus:
Take Bus 44 to Feuersee, followed by a 5–10 minute walk.
U-Bahn:
You can also take the U-Bahn to Marienplatz. The walk from there is slightly longer.
To make sure your appointment is as comfortable as possible, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Get plenty of rest & have a good meal
Please make sure you're well rested and have eaten a proper meal before your appointment. Getting tattooed is more physically demanding than many people expect. The better you feel, the more comfortable the session will be for both of us.
No alcohol or drugs
Please arrive sober for your appointment.
If you arrive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, I reserve the right to cancel your appointment before we begin.
This isn't meant to be harsh—it's simply for your safety and to ensure the best possible tattoo.
Want to change something?
If you're unsure about any part of the design or would like to make changes, please let me know before we start.
A tattoo is forever, so it's important that you're 100% happy with the design.
Don't worry—I never take revision requests personally. I'd much rather make a few adjustments beforehand than have you leave with something you're not completely happy with.

If anything comes to mind before your appointment or you're unsure about something, just get in touch.
It's always better to ask than to be unsure.
Clothing
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed—and ideally something you don't mind getting a little ink on.
Running late?
If you're running late, please send me a quick message via WhatsApp so I can plan accordingly.
Bringing a friend
You're welcome to bring one accompanying person if you'd like.
The entire friend group, however, might be a bit much for the studio.
If you're unsure whether you're bringing too many people, just ask beforehand and I'll happily let you know.
Even after your tattoo appointment, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Aftercare
Before you leave the studio, I'll explain exactly how to take care of your new tattoo.
If you have any questions afterwards or you're unsure about anything during the healing process, don't hesitate to get in touch via WhatsApp or Instagram.
Exercise
Try to avoid exercise for around two weeks after getting tattooed to give your body the best chance to heal properly.
Sun, swimming & sauna
For at least 4–6 weeks, avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, swimming pools, hot tubs, and saunas. Your tattoo will thank you for it.
Healing
If anything seems unusual while your tattoo is healing, please don't hesitate to contact me.
In most cases it's completely normal, but I'd always rather take a look than have you worry unnecessarily.
It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Once your tattoo has fully healed (usually after 4–6 weeks), I'd love to see how it turned out.
